John Francis

John is one of the world’s premier wingshooting and sporting clays instructors. He currently has his NSCA Level 3 Instructor Certification. The methods he teaches are based on his knowledge and experience gained as a professional wingshooter and as a master class competitor. With over 30 years of competition shooting and hunting experience in the United States, South America, and Mexico, John has the passion to provide you with the perfect wing and clay experience.

Lenny Sloat

Lenny Sloat is a lifelong bird hunter, a competitive sporting clays shooter, and an NSCA Level 1 Instructor. Lenny joins the Powder Creek Instructor Team after completing 38 years of service with five total deployments in both the Army and Marine Corps. He is committed to teaching shooting fundamentals and safety to wing shooters, clay enthusiasts, and their families. Wing shooting over dogs is his passion. If you’re committed to hitting more birds (feathered or clay), Lenny is committed to helping you and your family safely master the fundamentals of shotgun shooting.

Dave Newell

If you are a beginner or new to the sport of shotgun shooting, working with Dave would be a great way to get started. Dave is an NRA Certified Level 1 Shotgun Coach and has the knowledge and ability to teach the basics of shotguns to those eager to learn. Dave has over 40 years of shooting experience to share and is an avid hunter and shooter. Woody Longan

Woody has been a member of Powder Creek Shooting Park for several years. He has been a great teacher to all those who seek his instruction. He will work with anyone. Whether you're a beginner, an advanced shooter, a youth, or a lady, he has you covered with years of experience. Woody works with private one-on-one lessons or group lessons. He is NRA Certified for instruction and range safety, and is also a Level 1 NSCA Instructor. Woody can teach you everything you need to know and is NRA Qualified as "Distinguished Expert" for shotgun instruction on Trap, Trap Doubles, Skeet, Skeet Doubles, Sporting Clays, and 5-Stand. Certified home firearm safety, certified pistol, certified rifle, shotgun shell reloading, and metallic cartridge reloading. Woody does it all. Give him a call if you would like to set up a lesson!
